Use It or Lose It, Volume 1, Issue 6-Monochrome

This month we are focusing on one color - a monochrome effect.  If you've arrived here from Rachel's blog, then you're on your way!  I choose to use the definition of monochrome literally for my project (yes, I really did look it up, just to ensure I had the right thinking going on in my brain).

I was excited to see our new Cricut Artiste cartridge had so many gear shapes on it, I couldn't wait to start cutting and creating.  I used up a bunch of scraps from the stash for my gears.  I stamped and inked each gear to give them some texture.  It's hard to say which stamp sets I used.  I just started going through the drawers looking for images that I thought would be cool, and ended up with the gears.  I must admit, I stepped out of the monochrome world just a bit by adding a bit of Rusty Hinge ink (Tim Holtz) on some of the gears, but they were lacking that "distressed" look I was searching for and this did the trick!! The title letters have been hanging out in a jar on the shelf for a very long time...I would guess they are from Lil' Davis Designs.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope I have inspired you to give this a try.  Now continue on to Tabbi's blog and see what great things she has made for you.  If you get lost or would like to refer back to a specific blog you can find an entire list of this months creative team on Rachel's blog.
