Use It or Lose It - Special Edition

Here's a special edition to my Use It or Lose It quest that has a plethora of items from the stash.  The only newly purchased items in my project are the Quick Quotes Die Cuts.
My project started with this too cool printer's tray die cut chipboard piece from Quick Quotes.  I knew right away what I wanted it to look like, so using a peeled paint technique I painted it with watered down black paint to give it an aged appearance.

To achieve the peeled paint look first rub a very thin layer of vaseline randomly on the piece, then paint over it with any acrylic paint.  After it has had a moment to dry, wipe the paint off the vaseline with a soft cloth.....
Here's a shot where the vaseline was a bit thicker than the spots in the photo above.  The handsome man in the picture is my father.  Behind his photo is the journaling that coordinates with all the other numbered photos of my relatives.

The remaining items on the project came from one jar or the other in the craft room with the exception of the stamped dress from (Close To My Heart) and the topiary chipboard piece (Quick Quotes). The tiny roses are made from some very old Daisy D's paper and the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge from Close To My Heart.
Other items used:
Metal embellishments - Tim Holtz, Close To My Heart, Lil' Davis Designs
Letters - Lil' Davis Designs, Making Memories
Rubons - Close To My Heart, Maya Road
Rhinestones & Pearls, Close To My Heart, Queen & Co.
Notebook Punch - Stampin' Up
