Use It or Lose It - Just Scraps

This month on our Use It or Lose It blog hop we are creating with just scraps.  If you are coming from Judy Faye's blog then you are on the right track!

Do we have scraps.....a 6 drawer cabinet clear full of them!  You just never know when you might need just a small piece of paper!  Cards are an excellent example!  My project is a Christmas card that is inspired by an ATC created by Wendi Vechi....

I loved the scalloped border technique she used on her tree so decided I'd create a card using it.  I cut squares from the pillow ticking paper piece in graduated sizes, then cut them in half diagonally and used my fiskars scallop border punch along the diagonal cut.... Everything you see on the card is made from bits and pieces of paper from the drawers some Close To My Heart, Tim Holtz, Cosmo Cricket - the ribbon comes from one of the "ribbon scrap" jars.  Again, you just never know when you're going to need a tiny piece of ribbon.  The buttons I dug out of the button jars.

Now continue on to Rachel's blog and see what she has for you.  You will find a list of this month's hoppers there also in case you get lost along the way or would like to refer to a specific post!

I really like the non traditional colors on this card. The blues are lovely and paired with the reds & greens makes a nice contrast. You usually don't see that. It is either blue and white or red & green, not both. i love have all the textures and colors play on one another.
