Anything but paper

Welcome to the August edition of our technique blog hop.  This month we are showing you ways to stamp on things other than paper!  If you are coming from Joy's blog, then you are on the right track.  If you get lost along the way, or would like to check back on another blog, a full list of this month's designers is at the bottom of this post.

With the Close To My Heart clear acrylic stamps there are so many things you can stamp on (including paper).  Since they are see through and really bendy they open up a world of opportunities.
For my project I chose to decorate up a cover for my phone.  The most difficult part of this project was actually deciding WHAT I wanted to stamp on my cover.  So many choices.....I finally settled on this vintage looking stamp set (sorry it's retired).  I decided it looked the most like my personality, but was swaying towards a really nice butterfly also.  To stamp on the plastic case, I used black Stazon ink.  I also added some black rhinestones held on by a bit of liquid glass.  The blank phone cover came in a set of two purchased at Family Dollar.  When all was finished, it looks great and is a ton cheaper than the store bought variety.  One thing to note if you decide to try this.  Choose a phone cover that is not transparent (as this one is) unless your phone is not black....I didn't really think about that until after it was all finished and my phone (which IS black) was trying it on - you can't see but a tiny bit of the design!!  I guess it's time for a new silver phone for me then!!

Thanks for stopping by today, please continue on to Wendy's blog to see what she has created for you.
All products used in today's project (except the phone case) are brought to you by Close To My Heart.

What a great idea! Love this! Silly question, but does the ink smear onto your hands or did it really get dry enough not to smear? This is super creative! -Stephanie

Love this idea, and my phone is white! I think I may do this to the white case I have. =)

Oh my, now I will have to get my case out and see what I can do to it! Great idea, Debi.
