Nothing but cardstock

Welcome to this months technique blog hop.  This month we are featuring projects with only cardstock. If you are coming from Sheila's blog (http:\\sheila-bennett.blogspot.com) then you are on the right track.

For my layout I began with base cardstock from the Frosted collection from the current Close To My Heart ideabook. This smokey blue color is gorgeous and can be used for a variety of subjects other than wintry snow. For added interest I misted over some flower masks onto the base piece.
The next step was to create the tags with additional colors of cardstock each with its own decorating element. Some were stamped while others were dry embossed (I learned a new technique for creating your own embossing folders that is pretty slick. I will share the technique later this month). The swirls, flowers, bird and leaves are cut from the Cricut Artiste cartridge and the leaves were embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

You have perhaps noticed there are no photos on my layout. I'm beginning a new venture in 2014 and am building inventory. I'll be sharing several more projects with you over the next few weeks as a sneak peek of the grand opening!

Now hop on over to Joy's blog (http:studiowowjoy.com) and see what she's created this month.
