June Technique Hop - Picture My Life

Welcome to June's edition of our Technique Blog Hop.  This month we are featuring the Picture My Life products from the Spring/Summer Close To My Heart Ideabook.  If you are coming from Terry's blog then you are on the right track! The Picture My Life products are fantastic, but what if you just haven't hopped on that band wagon - or perhaps you've finished up your album and have some leftovers you need to use up?  The project kits come with oodles of cards so having some left is not that unlikely - so what do you do with them?  Our projects this month focus on what you can use the products for besides their intended use......

I began my project with these two cards from the Baby Cakes Picture My Life collection.
My family is using this line for my daughters upcoming baby shower, so I decided to make a card to go along with that theme for the event.
I fussy cut the saying from one card and placed them on the bottom for my sentiment, then I wanted to use the cute stitched hearts on the design, but as it turned out they were way to big....so I grabbed my heart punch and lined up the stitching in the middle and punched some smaller ones.  You still get the idea of the stitching up the middle, just on a smaller scale.  I only applied adhesive to the center and folded the sides of the hearts up a bit to give them some dimension.  While I was at it I punched a few more smaller hearts from the leftovers for some interest.  Here's a tip for you....when I got several of the hearts on the patterned paper you really couldn't see them, so using a small tipped pen in a coordinating color, I outlined each heart and made them show better!

Hope you are inspired to give the Picture My Life products a try with other projects!!  Now hop on over to Sheila's blog and see what great project she has to share with you!

Here is a list of this month's designers in case you get lost or would like to refer back to a specific blog.  Thanks for stopping by today!!

Cute idea to cute the sentiment. And using a heart punch was a great way to use the design, but change the size.
