March Technique Hop - CASE

Welcome to the March 2014 edition of our Technique Blog Hop!  This month we are showing you projects that are created from the 2014 Close To My Heart Spring/Summer Ideabook with a twist.

Now you are asking yourself - what's the "twist" on our projects.  Well, our ideabook is called that for a reason....there are, of course, lots of great products to purchase, but it also is loaded with examples of projects for you to recreate.  Our "twist" this month is to take one of those projects and convert it into another type of piece (Card to layout, layout to card, and so on).  We really would like to show you the versatility of the Ideabook and how many ways there are to use the projects it shows.

For my project, I chose to convert a card project into a layout.  Here is my inspiration piece

As you can see, I used my second favorite paper packet Skylark to create my layout with.  I love this one particular piece the most....The birds and banners at the top left hand side are pre-printed on the paper....stinkin' cute!!  I flipped the design of the original card so I could accommodate the blue bird on the large paper...and the small arrow border is cut from yet another piece of the paper packet.  Love it!  I finished the layout off with some White Marquee Enamel Shapes and Aqua Dots.
